What Babymind is
Babymind is a parenting app for three stages of family life: trying to conceive, pregnancy and the first years with a baby. Its best-known feature is the AI cry analyzer: you record a few seconds of crying and the app suggests the most likely reason, such as hunger, tiredness, discomfort, gas or being too hot or cold. Around it sit the everyday tools parents actually use: period and ovulation tracking, pregnancy week by week, growth tracking for length, weight and head circumference, sleep tracking, a vaccination calendar and a voice diary.
The app is available on iPhone and Android in 11 languages. Alongside it we publish free, practical parenting guides in 12 languages.
Why we built it
Every parent knows the moment: it is the middle of the night, the baby will not settle and every search result says something different. Babymind exists to make that moment a little easier, with a calm first suggestion, a clear list of things to try and honest advice on when it is time to call a professional.
What we believe
- Honesty about what technology can do. The cry analyzer offers a suggestion with a confidence level, never a diagnosis. Where a popular idea is not backed by solid research, such as the Dunstan baby language, we say so.
- Evidence first. Our guides follow published guidance from the WHO, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the NHS, ACOG, NICE and peer-reviewed research, and each guide lists its sources.
- Support, not a substitute. Babymind helps you observe, record and prepare. Decisions about your or your baby's health belong with you and your healthcare professionals.
- Your data is yours. We never sell personal data, and you can delete your account and data at any time. Details are in our privacy policy.
Our guides
The guides cover crying and colic, sleep by age, growth and percentiles, and pregnancy week by week. They are free to read, and you do not need the app to use them. How they are written, checked, sourced and corrected is described in our editorial policy.
Who is behind Babymind
Babymind is built and run by a small independent team of developers and writers. We are not a hospital or a medical practice, and we do not offer medical consultations.
